• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Installed 8.3 several times on different machines running WinServ 2008 RC1.
Also installed Smartermail which is still not íntegrated as it should be. No backups using Plesk for the mail folders for example...

Anyway every install I have ran into trouble with ClamAV. The moment I start it in Smartermail it pulls the CPU to 100%.
Is this a known issue? Should I only use the one provided with Plesk (I did not install yet) and ignore the one from Smartertools?
Are they the same version, how and where can I check what is going on with ClamAV?
Will it make any difference in processing or CPU use?
Do they use the same port setting?
DO I need to enable it in Smartertools or only in Plesk?
Is there a preferred way/order with ClamAV and SpamAss?

Thanks for all the improvements in 8.3!

ClamAV uses cygwin, so be sure your applications do not use different cigwin versions. Also ClamAV checks antivirus database at start time it requires some time. I looked symptoms like yours in some old versions, You could upgrade ClamAV to newer version.
