• Halloween is coming! To celebrate the occasion, we dusted off a couple of old skins, and even created a brand new one (Pixel).
To get into the festive spirit, install the Skins extension.
  • The new Python extension is now available. It allows customers to deploy and manage WSGI-based Python applications on their websites directly from Plesk.
  • The Plesk Mobile apps for iOS and Android and the Plesk Mobile Center extension have been deprecated, and are no longer available for new installations. In Plesk Obsidian 18.0.84, the Plesk Mobile Center extension will be removed from servers during the upgrade, and the Plesk Mobile apps will lose their server management features.
  • The Social Login extension has been deprecated and will be removed in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.84. After that, it will no longer be possible to log in to Plesk with a Google, Facebook, GitHub account, or with a passkey. Plesk usernames and passwords, as well as logging in with a WebPros Account, are not affected.

Creating FTP Subaccounts

Hi,

I'm trying to create a 2nd ftp account for a domain, I'm unsure what the correct procedure is for this - I've created the user manually via Computer Management, given the user full permissions to the vhost\domain.com folder but still can't seem to login.

I keep getting this error:

530 User walkmovedes cannot log in, home directory inaccessible.

I've given the user full access to the domain folder, their also in the MSFTP and psacln groups. The domain also has Unlimited FTP accounts set in the limits.

thanks

That is a permissions error, make sure the windows user has permissions to that folder.

Try this from the command prompt of the Server:
"%plesk_bin%\ftpmng.exe" --remove-all
"%plesk_bin%\ftpmng.exe" --reconfigure-all
and restart FTP/IIS

No need to do that, just fix the permissions on the one folder.
Much easier and simpler, and no need to mess with anyone else :)

I've given the user full access to the c:\Inetpub\vhosts\domain.com folder and the account still doesn't work, same error home directory inaccessible

Restarted ftp via IIS manager, didn't fix the problem....

The .security file in the domain's root folder, does that control access to the folder?
