• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello,

I'm new using Plesk and i have some problem with a domain of a client.

I added a domain for a client, and instead for the domain to point to it's folder with the html pages ( /home/httpd/vhosts/domain )
It is pointing to a default folder ( /home/httpd/vhosts/default )

Thanks

Make sure that the domain resolves to the IP where you based the hosting of the domain on. This is most likely the cause.

How do i make the domain to point to that IP? ( i chose physical hosting because the files are going to be on my server) Isnt that suppose to be automatic since i created an ftp user?

If I understand this correctly, I have one IP address (shared) and i have different domains that use that IP address. So, every domain has a folder(path) that points to that IP address(folder).

How do i make this domain point to that folder?

Thanks in advance

Do you use the DNS service on the Plesk server? If so the domain should resolve the the proper IP (considering that DNS is setup correctly).

To debug ping the domain, like:

ping www.yourdomain.com

the IP that answers should be the same IP with the one you used to setup the domain in Plesk.

Yes, im using the DNS service on the Plesk server. i ping my domain and resolves the correct IP, however still goes to the default folder and not domain.com folder. Does it have to do with the switch? (master and slave DNS server?)

Any domain i add in Plesk points to the default folder of my static IP. What settings should i change i Plesk?

Thanks for your time

I didnnt reboot Plesk before. By rebooting it everything worked fine.

Thanks again for your time
