• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Digital Oceans + CentOS + Plesk, what else to implement?

VPSNewb

New Pleskian
Hello Plesk Users,

I want to learn and engage in VPS servers and I was wondering since PLESK installs fail2ban, modsecurity and has auto updates.
Do I need manually need to do anything for my CentOS server in terms of server security? Or does Plesk do all the updates and security?

Also do plesk updates cause wordpress sites to break/not function? Is it better to wait and then update?

Thank you so much :)

Plesk itself takes care of all the necessary updates. Also, in Plesk settings, you can independently choose the automatic or manual installation of updates. All updates will be installed correctly and safely if you don't do any customisations like third-party repositories, mirrors, and so on.
