• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Disable DCOM on windows server 2016 running plesk onyx

daadaa

New Pleskian
Hi
I have a windows server 2016 that running plesk onyx and about 200 websites are hosted in my server.
I faced with a notification for disable DCOM on windows for security reasons.

Given that DCOM may be used by some websites, Can i disable the DCOM ?
How do I check which sites are using DCOM? Is there a problem if we disable it?

Please help me if you have any information about my question.
Thanks

Hi daadaa, we disabled DCOM on about 10 Windows Servers without any issue. So I think its not a problem. When you have a problem you can enable and reboot and then migrate to a Windows Server 2019 machine. We only had troubles with our monitoring via WMI and switched to SNMP.

Greetings Paul
