• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hi,

We are looking at moving our website hosting from being based with a third party provider to a dedicated server (we also offer resold packages / domains for clients)

However, we are in need of some brief information / technical advice.

What we would like to know is, would it be recommended to have one dedicated server running Plesk for each name server and one (possibly more depending on need) for the hosting packages (again running Plesk)?

Our chosen server provider only supplies servers running Plesk 10, therefore does anyone if there is the ability to manage a group of servers in a way similar to that of Plesk 9 and Plesk Expand?

Also, can anyone advise how we would need to configure Plesk on each of the NS Machines to act as the primary and secondary name servers for the sites hosted on the hosting machine(s).

We would prefer to three (possibly only 2) servers, that way if one NS failed the other would still be available. We also use our own IPS Tag therefore using our down name servers is preferred rather than a third party provider.

Any advice would be appreciated.
