• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Domain Actions too slow(!)

Hi Guys,

have got another lil' problem on our servers. Got 2 new plesk 8 machines.
It's a funny thing, if I create a new domain, it takes very long between screen 1 (new domain name) and screen 2 (ftp user settings)

If i do domain modifications (changing hostname) it also takes long, and deleting too.
If I work with plesk API (via CLI) it's also very slow...

Maybe it has something to do with qmail, as a qmail reload takes also 1 minute...

sorry, but 1 minute to wait while creating a new domain is really too much, isn't it?

best regards
manuel :)

Generally, 1 minute is not that bad. It can take some >20 sec for the fast servers to create domains with with many hosting services on them. Basically, whatever slows it down, can be grouped into 4 categories:
1. Hardware.
2. Network.
3. SQL
4. Plesk software iteslf: errors that can be found in logs (eg. /usr/local/psa/admin/logs/httpsd_error_log or /var/log/messages)

If restarting qmail takes > 1 minute, there might be a prob with qmail , indeed, but again, it is hardly related to retarded domain actions, because mail configuration is mainly done after domain creation..
