  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Dreamweaver FTP Access Problem

Dear All,

I have just started to use Plesk and I am having some very basic problems. I have set up a new client and ftp details for one of my clients so I can upload their site.

I have entered the following details in to dreamweaver:-

FTP ACCESS

FTP Host: clientdomain.co.uk
Host Directory: /.
Login: clientlogin
Password: *******

I have also checked the 'Use passive FTP' box

When I try to connect I get a 'Host Found - Connecting message' then it sends an error 'An FTP error occured - Cannot make connection to host'.

Not sure if I am doing something wrong in Dreamweaver or if I am missing something in Plesk. Could anyone please point me in the right direction?

Thankyou for your time.
Stephen

This could be a firewall issue too. I'd check to make sure all the right ports are open.

Also if you are using a MAC be aware that for some reason they won't work in non-passive mode even if you set the software to work in non-passive mode (if you see what I mean). So if you have ports above 1024 blocked by default, it just won't work. You'll need to play with your proftp.conf file to tell it to use a specific set of ports, then open those in the firewall.

Faris.
