• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Error updating mysql

I would like to update Mysql on my plesk 9.21, from version 5.0.45 to a new one.

I stopped Mysql service, copied and renamed old parralels\plesk\datatbases\mysql folder, created a new mysql folder with the unzipped content of the mysql release.

However, as soon as i try to restart mysql service the panel shows an error message:

Error: Could not complete the operation: defpackagemng failed: The system cannot find the file specified. (Error code 2) at StartService 'MySQL'

Is there any other way to make this upgrade or to avoid this error? I tried with mysql 5.5.8 and 5.1.54

Thanks!

just forgot... of course I also copied the data subfolder from the old version to the new one, trnasfering the permission aswell
