Excluding Files from backup

Please can someone tell me how we exclude files/directories from the daily full server backup.

We have around 10G of static library files in one domain directory which double the size of the backup. They dont change so its uneccessary to back them up every day, we can keep a safety copy offline and make the backup smaller/quicker, but I cant find out how to do this in any documentation.

Hello, i have similar problem:

BACKUPS
- as we primary using Drupal CMS and Boost module - we can have for example 10GB website + 10GB data in cache folder, but those data in cache folder are not necessary to backup. And there can be more directories for excluding.

It's not possible to exclude files/directories from backup. You can exclude only whole domains/clients.
