Question Export mails mbox?

Reset_Adv_Systems

New Pleskian
Hi there.

I have a client on a VPS which has 120 email accounts. Uses exclusifly roundcube for himselfe and ll the team members.
As his HD is getting full he wants to export email (if possible in MBOX formt) contents and then tell all the team members to DELETE all the email prior to 2021.
Is there any one who knows of something to achive this?
Client does not uses EMAIL CLIENT. Nor he want´s his team members to use NO email client. SO everthing is currently done by Roundcube,

The Plesk back up is all well BUT the format leaves us NO other option to restore it only back into another Plesk :-(

All your ideas would be highly appriciated.
Regards,
Paco

The manual conversion from Plesk backup email folders for 120 mailboxes is nearly impossible.
Unfortunately, Your client must use IMAP protocol to dig into these accounts individually to export these emails one by one or folder by folder.

I suggest you to offer him an upgrade or increase in disk space and let him keep all emails in Plesk, it's not worth your trouble.

A lot of work need to be done.

He must use a professional tool designed to convert these emails from Roundcube to MBOX format in "patch mode" through IMAP/IMAPS, First:

1. He must ask his users for their username and passwords (Not preferable of course), instead .. resets their passwords to unified and easy password (ex. 123456) from Plesk panel, one by one for all 120 mailboxes. (temporary of course and notify his users of this change for the conversion period).
2. Use an excel sheet or any other free sheet tool to put these values (Email Address and passwords) and export it as a CSV format and save it for the patch converter. (you must know the CSV table design and order required by this tool)
3. Use Email Backup Wizard, fully explained here.
4. Verify the successful conversion and test MBOX file/s for import.
5. Use the Plesk new feature to send email reset link for every mailbox.

Or just increase the storage space if security is his main concern.
