Question Facing huge problem with migration

Stallin

New Pleskian
Hi,

We are facing one typical issue in migration. We are having shared hosting server where 3000 domains hosted. In case of server down we will have to migrate this 3000 domains. But the restoring the domains using Plesk backup is very very slow. When we try to restore 100 domains only configuration itself taking more than 2 to 3 hours. That too after reaching particular amount of domains adding domains in Plesk taking much more time. It is really affecting our business. It almost take one week time to complete the migration. Our clients are very unhappy. Can anybody tell us any easiest way to complete the migration. This is really needed for us.

Awaiting good solution from you people.

Firstly thats a whole lot for one shared server. Anyway we had the same issue with around 750 domains which took 2 days for some odd reason. However when resyncing we resynced the DBs and Emails only. Which sped it up a bit.

Also I'd advise you do it in parts. For example A to G and then complete those and then to the rest bit by bit.

But rest assured it will be slow because the way I understand it plesk does a full backup and then restores it on the other end. Its not exactly how cPanel does it and is much slower but it works nevertheless.

Windows tooks are lacking but you could always figure out a way using something like Richcopy aswell which can be used to sync website files at a later stage.(optional)

If you do find a solution please inform us aswell - its kinda tiresome moving from 2012 R2 to 2019 now.
