Qmail failed to start

Qmail failed to start

/etc/init.d/qmail start
Starting qmail: [FAILED]

Hello,

The problem you are getting is due to the Qmail service as it is not up and while creating the Domain plesk do entries for the domain in mail manager. Now if your Qmail is up you can add the domain.

Check if there is any ackgroud process for qmail

give command as follows:

ps -auxf |grep qmail

or straight away give following command.

killall -9 qmail

keep giving this command till you get the message.

No Such process to kill

And then again start the qmail by

service qmail start

Qmail stil failed tio start

killall -9 qmail
qmail: no process killed

etc/init.d/qmail start
Starting qmail: [FAILED]

Hello,

Do you have QmHandle Script on the server.

Also I asked you for the chat ID so that I can asist you live.

Hello,

Do you need some one to look after your servers?

Can contact me.

I do not have chat ID,
its a new install, it seems it has to redo it over

I had the same problem. The solution:

1. As root go into the install folder of plesk.
2. Find the psa-qmail-xx.rpm file. Its usually in the base folder
3. Execute rpm -ivh psa-qmail-xxx.rpm --force to reinstall the qmail package from scratch.

Obviously, the xxx in the filename stands for the version of the package.

Good luck!

The issue is that your hostname and domainname are not set properly.

Set your hostname and domainname and then do as vasillalov said.
