File download module

I see that file download module can be added only 1 file.
It doesn't quite useful if we can add only 1 file.
Also, why we have to provide a file to download in main menu.
What if we have many files to provide for user to download in a site, how should we do?

So, my question is,
is there any way to make this module be able to add multiple files,
and appear like a file list page for user to download what they want?

Please suggest. I really want to make this module useful for users,
only one file is just not enough.
