formmail.pl Gone Crazy

I am trying to get formmail.pl to work. Everything seems to work correctly except the resulting emails seem to ‘collect’ field data – that is, each field will collect data from the form that has been previously sent - so test email1 comes through fine, then the second will include data from both then the third each field will display data from all three sends, and so on. Every now and again the system seems to reset itself and the first one comes through normal again and then the cycle continues. I have to assume there is a setting I am missing in plesk as I have been working with this formmail v1.93 for years and never seen this. Any ideas? I feel like I’m banging my head against the wall with this! New to using Plesk

These scripts were posted to the web beginning in 1995 when I was still in high school. Having no formal programming education or experience at that time, I released the code as I learned, hoping others would find it useful.

Most of the scripts at Matt's Script Archive ceased to be updated after 1996, with the exception of major security flaws or bugs. This certainly did not deter from their continued use as thousands of people continue to visit and download the scripts daily.

I would highly recommend downloading the nms versions if you wish to learn CGI programming. The code you find at Matt's Script Archive is not representative of how even I would code these days. My interests and activies have moved on, however, and I just have not found the time to update all of my scripts. One of the major reasons for this is that they work for many people. For this reason, I will continue to provide them to the public, but am also pleased to make you aware of well-coded alternatives.

As you can see, the author himself states his old scripts as buggy and insecure. Please consider using different methods and actual CGI - scripts, which meat the current standards and are up-to-date.


If you insist on using this old CGI - script, please provide the complete script in a code - bracket ( Forum-feature: "Insert..." - "Code", BB-Code - button on the top of each Forum - textbox - 4. from the right ) and provide some log - entries from syslog and/or maillog and/or domain-spefiic webserver - logfiles, which may point to the issue when using this script.
