  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Fresh install problems -- HELP

I have just had a fresh Fedora 8 install (just system) and then installed Plesk 8.4. Plesk will not start and on the start up sequence gives the following message
# key file: /opt/DrWeb?DrWeb32.key -Key not found
A pth to a valid Licence Key file does notspecify
Plesk Authorization failed
HTTP Request Error [7]
Error Plesk Software not running FAILED

I tried to go back to install and remove the DRweb option but as it already installed it won't (though not sure this the cause for Plesk not starting? Is this actually stopping plesk starting or are they two unrelated things

I also have not set a IP address yet as it will be moved when finished and currently using DHCP on a local network

How do I solve this problem????? Note I am a Linux novice and can just get around it. So please reply in simple terms for a simple fella

Thanking anyone for help in advance.

Forgot to mention when I run the start command after machine boot
I get

# /etc/init.d/psa start
Starting xinetd service... done
Starting named service... done
Starting mysqld service... done
Starting qmail service... done
Starting courier-imap service... done
Starting postgresql service... failed
Starting psa-spamassassin service... not installed
Starting Plesk... done
Starting drwebd service... failed

But I still cannot connect using
https://<ipAddress>:8443/
I have checked the IP and can SSH to the machine.

Trial DrWeb can be started only if Plesk is running and DrWeb is registered in Plesk database.
Possibly you have a problem with both points.
Try to execute /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/packagemng to register DrWeb in Plesk.

Problem with Plesk Panel itself can be related to DHCP IP.
It is better to install Plesk with static IP configured.

Ok Solved the problem with not connecting Duh Fedora has a firewall that defaults to all blocked except SSH ... Turned that off andd away we go.. Haven't looked at the Drweb yet but will do later.

Thanks

I am having trouble starting DrWeb but it's not a trial and not a fresh install of Plesk 8.4. Here's what I run as root and what happens:
/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/drwebmng --start
drwebmng: Service /etc/init.d/drwebd failed to start
drwebmng: drweb start failed

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Never mind. I found the answer on another forum. This worked for me. Run the following commands (the first 2 verify that the binary files of DrWeb exist on the server):

ls -la /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/drwebmng
ls -al /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/drwebmng
/etc/init.d/drwebd restart
