FTP Problems Helo

I create a web user, give him all FTP access, when I connect, it accepts my login and password via FTP, but I can't see any web folders like httpdocs and so on. I have passive dissabled and have tried with passive with same results.

At one point it would show the folders, allow me to upload about 2% of the files, then it would stop responding.

I'm using FreeBSD 5.5 w/plesk 8.
