Horde not working / new clean install

Hi,

I got a new root server and installed Plesk 8.3.
Everything works fine so far, except I can't get horde to work.

When I go to webmail.mydomain.net I get the usual Horde login screen. Then I enter my email adress and password and press login, I get an error "login failed" (it takes about 5-10 seconds until the error message appears, which is kinda long, considered that no other page loads longer than 2 sec).

I can download and send emails via smtp and pop3, so there aint anything wrong with the service.

Any Ideas?

How many domains are hosted on the server now? Sometimes unexplained failed logins in Webmail may be symptom of FD_SETSIZE problem. Apache may not fail with segfault, but webmail still does not work.

Also, check if IMAP logins are working on test webmail page at http://webmail.<domain>/horde/imp/test.php on affected server. It will provide you with some debugging information.

I think I know what my problem is:
There are only two domains hosted on this new server, which is still in testing. Currently the web sites still run on the old server.
For testing I edited the /etc/hosts-File on the server itself and on my windows client, so I would reach the new server under the old hostname.
I suppose Horde might have a problem with that (even though I added mail.domain.net, mailout., webmail., www. and domain.net to resolve to 127.0.0.1)

Well, since webmail isn't vital for the web site, I'll just wait with that, until the server goes live.

Anyway... the FD_SETSIZE problem only accures with over 900 domains, the knowledgebase article states. So this drops out.

/horde/imp/test.php: Everything green except "Other Horde Applications" -> "gollem" and "nag". I suppose this is ok and I don't need these applications, since they would be installed by Plesk automatically otherwise?

PS: confirmed.
When using the "PHP Mail Server Support Test" provided by /horde/imp/test.php I always get the error "Wrong username/password". When I enter my old email password, which I currently have on the old server, I get success messages and it tells me, how many messages my inbox has.
