How do I change the minimum and maximum required password lengths?

I found a post which had the following information:


"Minimal password length is 4 characters by default. This value can be changed in the PLESK_MIN_PASSWORD_LENGTH parameter of the [HKLM\SOFTWARE\PLESK\PSA Config\Config] key."

However, there was not an entry for PLESK_MIN_PASSWORD_LENGTH, so I tried adding it. When I tried adding an account with less characters in the password, it was added and I was able to log in with it Furthermore, when I tried creating a password with only 3 characters, it worked also.

Has anyone else made changes to theirs or have any ideas of how to get it to work correctly?

You can do it via local security policy (for w2k3):
