How do I downgrade from MySQL 4.1.14 to 4.0.x

I update the MySQL server to 4.1.14 using ART repository, but my software have so much problem with MySQL new charset/collation feature.

How I can remove MySQL 4.1.14 and install 4.0.x

Plus, how can I prevent MySQL from update to newer version?
