  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

How do I symlink httpsdocs to httpdocs?

I have already symlinked httpsdocs to httpdocs, but it keeps giving errors.

[Wed Nov 19 16:25:26 2008] [error] [client 82.4.12.241] PHP Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in Unknown on line 0
[Wed Nov 19 16:25:26 2008] [error] [client 82.4.12.241] PHP Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/home/httpd/vhosts/villa.nl/httpsdocs/catalog/admin/index.php' (include_path='.:') in Unknown on line 0
I have tried setting openbase_dir to none and httpdocs:httpsdocs:/tmp, but it doesn't help.

can you do php -f /home/httpd/vhosts/villa.nl/httpsdocs/catalog/admin/index.php from the command line ?

Yes, perfectly possible. No errors shown.

Also, does the domain have Options FollowSymLinks set in vhost.conf ? if not, you should probably try adding it inside a directory node.

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/core.html#options
I already have a .htaccess "Options +FollowSymLinks" in /httpdocs/ and I've already tried adding this in vhost.conf. Unfortunately all https://-pages still return 403-errors. I tried making all sorts of changes to vhost.conf, but it doesn't help much (no, I didn't forget websrvmng).

Something that I found strange was, that the symlink was owned by root.root and could not be rechowned. Is this normal?
I also tried adding /home/httpd/vhosts/villa.nl/httpsdocs in openbase_dir, but that didn't help much either.

[Thu Nov 20 11:08:32 2008] [error] [client 82.2.2.241] Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible: /home/httpd/vhosts/villa.nl/httpsdocs

I think you have to put the options into the vhost.conf in a directory clause

<directory /dir/goes/here>
options line
</directory>

if the symlink is 777 (rwxrwxrwx) then it shouldnt matter who the owner is.

isn't it easier to use the "Use a single directory for housing SSL and non-SSL content" option in Plesk?

it would definately be easier to do that yes, but it would be nice to have this symlink so that then you never need to worry about it :)

God damnit, I didn't knew that option. It's perfect for me.
