  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question How do I upgrade from MariaDB 11.4 to 11.7

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Windows Server 2022
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.69.0
Hi guys,

I am running on the latest Plesk Obsidian version on my Windows server, in the process I have updated MariaDB to 11.4 using Plesk Installer.

But now I need MariaDB 11.7 on my server because of the new uuid-v4() support.

So my question now is, what is the easiest way to upgrade and whether there are any instructions?

Thanks in advance!

Only TLS (long term support) releases from MariaDB are support because (as the name already implies) those releases are coincided stable and receive patches and fixes from the vendor for a much longer period. The latest current TLS release is version 11.4.

I am unfortunately no expert on Windows systems, so I am not so sure what workarounds are available (if any) on a Windows server. However, you could setup a (small) server on which you install MariaDB 11.7 yourself and configure Plesk to connect to that server. That will allow you to remote connect to MariaDB from Plesk to the other server with MariaDB 11.7.
