Question How to change default email setup instructions for the customer

SBurina

New Pleskian
Hello!

There's a blue "Info" icon in each row of the list of email accouts that opens a popup window with basic information for setting up an email client (Learn how to set up your email account in a mail client program, such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, and Apple Mail).

Is there a way to change the contents of this window, so it doesn't show incoming and outgoing mail servers on users' domain, but rather the ones suggested by the hosting provider (us)?

This is important, since we have set a SSL-enabled hostnames for this purpose that should be used by all clients using that particular server, and users can't connect securely if they follow Plesk's default advice and set up the hostnames as proposed, not having a SSL certificate in place.

Thank you!

Hi SBurina,

as far that I know, there is no way to change this, as the informations are parsed from Plesk DNS.

But your statement is clear and understandable, which points us to the current situation, that multiple SSL certificates are not ( yet ) implemented within the mail - server setup over Plesk. The ( recommended ) solution could be, that you create a decent future request at => Feature Suggestions (1625 ideas) – Your Ideas for Plesk and explain in detail the situation and the missing setup option(s). You could even create TWO feature requests here: One for the missing setup options at the mentioned mail - server - information page of each eMail - account and one for the option to setup postfix and dovecot with unique SSL certificates, according to the different domains hosted on your server.

You could find as well additional informations, suggested by Plesk Community Forum users, how to modify postfix and dovecot configuration files, in order to reach the goal to setup multiple SSL - certificates for your mail - server - setup:
