How to gather info about a crash. Help please!

Hi all,
today my plesk 8.0.1/centos 4.3 server went down and I need to manually reboot the box.

Can you give me some idea which log file I should read to try to assess what happened?

Looking the watchdog statistics I didn't noticed any strange thing.
Any idea where to start?
