  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

How to install IMAP

A default plesk installation comes with that protocol already installed and enabled (postfix MTA).

(postfix MTA).

Not postfix, but courier-imap service.

bestAdmin, first of all make sure that courier-imap is listening port 143 on your server with:

# lsof -i tcp:143

And port 143 is not firewalled.

Probably we have found the problem, this command has returned nothing. I am a newbie of Linux administration, can you tell me the next step to start this service? Thank you

Thank you very much!! Now I can send and view mail, but I have two question relataed.

1) Why we use port 143 instead 993 port?
2) Thunderbird permit me to delete mail (but it never move to trash can), iPhone can't permit me to delete mail. I need to configure trash folder?

993 is IMAP SSL port.

In that case:

# /etc/init.d/courier-imaps status
courierlogger (pid 17183) is running...

# lsof -i tcp:993
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
couriertc 17184 root 3u IPv6 8994151 0t0 TCP *:imaps (LISTEN)
