    This is a one-time operation that occurs during an upgrade. You can manually enable mod_status later if needed.

i'm sorry you haven't found a solution.. how about you try this:

sendmail_path = "unix2dos|dos2unix|sendmail -t -i"

perhaps that will clean it up without the need to edit all of your scripts.
 
i don't understand your reply, there's no dos2unix or unix2dos on suse?
