• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Good morning,

I would like to have your opinion on making website backups,
I have been working mainly with Plesk for several years.

I tried backup via Plesk, I tried backups via Wordpress plugins, backup via Plesk to Google Drive, or FTP.

All this works but I'm looking for the best way to recover properly

- httpdocs
- the database link
- and also the domain emails

Note: I don't know if there is also anything else to recover yet?

(but for me, site content, database + email are the most essential.

can also be the dns, mx etc. parameters.)

then if I ever have a problem

I upload the httpdocs folder, I import the database
and for the email I don't know how to do the restoration properly because on qmail I have the maildir folder but it's not easy to read the emails without third-party software.

I'm really looking for a quick way to backup
and if in the hypothesis I have a problem I can restore in 2 or 3
click.

At the same time, recover the backup and install locally on my Mac easily but for emails I still haven't found an idea, except reading the maildir folder with a tool on PC

Do you have any suggestions or ideas to suggest?

reliable and fast method?

thanks

Well, plesk backup is a good option, and if you are looking for more options, then you can go with Maildir and Email backups. Mail recovery is also a best option for this.
Thanks

I didn't find anything new
I stay with Plesk backup, and on certain WordPress projects I also use plugins for additional backup
