• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Image gallery: Wrong display of thumbnails in Firefox and Internet Explorer

Regular Pleskian
I noticed that in a WPB gallery, some thumbnail images from Picasa are shown differently with different browsers: While the Opera browser displays thumbnails correctly, Firefox and Internet Explorer show in their latest versions only a cut and pixelated part.

Is this a general issue with images not being in landscape format and not in a 4:3 ratio? Is there any hack for WPB 10?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for reporting this issue. I have two questions:

1. Does this issue happen with all images or with images of specific dimensions?
2. I'd like to understand what do you think is "correct" and what isn't. Screenshots or link to website would really help.

Hello Custer,

1. It only happens with images of specific dimensions.
2. It seems that those images are not resized by its longest dimension, e.g.
- a portrait oriented image of 600 pixel width and 800 pixel height is resized by its width to fit the thumbnail frame.
- a landscape oriented image of say 512px × 209px is cropped to show only a part of the image within the thumbnail frame.

If you check out at the gallery in Picasa directly the thumbnails are fine there, also in Firefox and IE. I send you an example by PM.

Thank you very much for looking into it.

Hi Dave,

This improvement/fix is scheduled for WPB 11.1 and we'll be working on it later, in a couple of months. You've been very helpful with this and other things, Dave, so on behalf of Web Presence Builder team I want to say Thank You. Please keep your feedback coming. :)
