• Debian 11 has reached its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.81 is the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Individual mail folder size limit

I'm starting to see issues caused by customers having thousands of piddly emails in their main inbox. I'm not concerned about the disk usage, rather the number of files that have to be stat'd when the inbox is viewed.

Does anyone know of a way to limit the number of emails in a folder or, if that isn't possible, the size of an individual folder?

Cheers,

Garan.

There is no other solution than a script to check the folders every night that sends an alert if the number of files is over a certain limit. :)

Thanks Hardweb. I did check the spec for the 4psa qmail product before posting! :D

Cheers,

Garan.

Thanks. I'll bear it in mind but at the moment I'm simply shouting at my customers as the ones with the silly sized mailboxes are the ones who are complaining about performance! :)
