• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Resolved Installing an SSL via the API requires a CSR, whereas the UI and CLI don't require it

Installing Certificates

This is a huge problem for us when migrating SSL certificates in to Plesk, as we don't store the CSR once the certificate has been issued.

Currently the dirty work around is to establish an SSH connection and use the certificate utility to install the SSL without an CSR, but that really shouldn't be necessary when there's an API.

Should I raise this as a bug in the reports forum? It's more like the specification of this API feature was initially incorrect.

To be in line with the UI and certificate CLI utility, the API certificate/install/csr node should be changed from 'required' to 'optional'.

ahhh it would be nice if the documentation mentioned that the csr node can be a blank string.

Closing as resolved.
