Issue Installing mod_pagespeed from the Google PageSpeed Insights extension gets stuck

Hello, I'm experiencing difficulties installing the mod_pagespeed extension on Ubuntu 22.04 with Plesk 18.0.55 Update #1. After clicking the "Install PageSpeed Apache Module" button, it seems to be stuck in a perpetual installation process without completing. I'm encountering the same issue on Debian 11. Is there a way to install it using the command line interface (CLI)?

Looks like this is a known, fairly new issue for Debian based operating systems. It is caused by the fact that the mod_pagespeed module was retired by the owner in April 2023 (on Github, GitHub - apache/incubator-pagespeed-mod: Apache module for rewriting web pages to reduce latency and bandwidth.), hence we cannot provide a fix for it directly, because products that are end of life won't be supported.

You can try to ask Plesk support staff for an individual fix with reference to EXTPLESK-4598, PPS-14355, KCS article 14461271267479 (open a ticket at https://support.plesk.com), but maybe the better solution is to waive this module and instead simply use the new "Performance Booster" function which is quite successful in enhancing the speed of websites and the server as it seems that relying on the old extension is no long-term strategy that will work.
