  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Kaspersky Recursion (?)

Hello everybody,

I just experienced a recursion with Kaspersky. At least I think it was a recursion. This afternoon (14:00 GMT) I've received a message saying that kaspersky has found a virus in one message. Tonight ( ~20:00 GMT) I've found 5 such massages, the newest with a timestamp (14:52 GMT).
The Server had 3414 running processes with more than 9000 message. After stopping Kaspersky Daemons the number of processes decreased to 59 and qmail-qstat output is

messages in queue: 9652
messages in queue but not yet preprocessed: 173

Can it be that this problem was caused by the notification messages that Kaspersky sends when it detects a virus?

Are there any charts about the mail system-Kaspersky workflow and further documentation? All I've found so far is the Administrators guide that explains how to set up Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

Best Regards,

Oliver Block

To make it more precise: If Kaspersky has found a virus and has sent a notation to the administrator, with the malicous message attached, will Kaspersky scan this message again, if the administrator's mailbox is set to redirect all messages to another mailbox which has virus protection turned on?

Hello,

Please perform the following command when kaspersky is running:

ps ax >/tmp/proc.txt
Than review the proc.txt file and the processes that are running. Then please use the top commnad and the processes PIDs in oder verify the actual memory and CPU load. Example for process 10001:

top -p 10001

Also you can perform top without parameters.

Then please post the results here.

As you can read above, the processes do not exist anymore. After changing the administrators email address to an account that is not redirected, the problem did not occur again, so far. I still have the ps ax >tmp.txt file and it has 3414 lines which means 3413 processes, correct? After greping for aveserver the count was still 450.

What exactly would you like to find out? I could help you to reproduce the problem.:)
