local mail queue is stuck

hi my local mail queue is stuck. it looks like it is processing mail slowly. anybody know where i can start to try to fix this?

i've tried rebuilding qmail
"How do I rebuild qmail`s queue if it is damaged or consists of a lot of spam messages?"

i also added -Rt0 to smtp_psa and smtps_psa

i stopped spamassassin and now it is going through the e-mails.
as soon as i start spamassassin the queue starts growing again.

the problem is that spamassassin is too busy. Check KB article http://kb.swsoft.com/en/787 -- you can set up spamassassin to spawn more than 5 child processes only in database as explained in last paragraph.
