Resolved Mail is redownloaded in Outlook

Cedric Leblanc

New Pleskian
Migration from CentOS 6 Plesk 11.5 to CentOS 7 Plesk Onyx.

All mail of migrated subscription are redownloaded from Outlook.

We didn't have this problem when we migrated from 11.5 to 12.5

Is this normal ?

Hello!
Cedric, please, give me some additional info to investigate the problem:
What server is used on source and on target as mail server? What protocol is used in Outlook to get messages from server? And what does it mean 'redownloaded from'?

Source: CentOS 6.8 Plesk 11.5, Postfix/Horde
Target: CentOS 7 Plesk Onyx, Postfix/Horde

Protocol is POP3 (Didn't try with IMAP)

We found it's maybe Dovecot (which was not used is our other Plesk)

POP3 migration
When migrating mails from another POP3 server, you should try to preserve the old UIDLs. If POP3 client is configured to keep mails in the server and the messages' UIDLs change, all the messages are downloaded again as new messages.

Can we disable Dovecot without breaking any services ? Or they're any way to keep UID ?

You can install Courier-IMAP instead (available as Plesk component), and then after migration is finished you may switch it to Dovecot. This way UIDLs should be preserved.
