Issue Mail sender question -

johdua

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Debian 6.1.112-1
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.69 Update #4
While solving strange issue with email delivery I found something that I am not sure is ok (or actually I am sure it is not).
I have three email boxes on server, for example [email protected] (me - the sender), [email protected] (recipient), [email protected].
Using Thunderbird I can send email to [email protected] using my account ([email protected]) but put [email protected] in sender field, such email is received by [email protected] and looks like it was sent by [email protected].
Can such behaviour be blocked in Plesk?

Hello, @johdua . The reject policy can cause issues with Plesk notifications as per the disclaimer in the article (due to external SMTP server), hence, it is not set by default. As for your other question, editing the raw Postfix config via GUI, is not something common and it holds security risks, it is overly complicated to implement and maintain due to changes, and frankly, if the user has the knowledge on how to properly configure Postfix, they will likely be able to comfortably work over the command line.
