  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue mailbox usage shown vs mails in webmail

haaid

New Pleskian
Hi all,

One of my mailboxes is shown to use 616Gb. This is a mailbox that has no limit set and was 308Gb just a bit ago.
I figured something was wrong as I have access to this mailbox and can't see very many mails.
I tried repairing this mailbox with the plesk repair mail command and that doubled the usage size...

if I use the "du" command to find largest directories and files i notice these being the cullprit:

622198544 /var/qmail/mailnames/<domain>/<user>/Maildir/.Trash
332034664 /var/qmail/mailnames/<domain>/<user>/Maildir/.Trash/cur
289570928 /var/qmail/mailnames/<domain>/<user>/Maildir/.Trash/tmp

If I check in webmail, there are hardly any file in the trash.

Can I safely remove or empty the .Trash directory via commandline?

Any suggestions welcome.

I would suggest you move the files, check if everything still works and then remove the files. If anything breaks, you can always move the files back.

Deleting the files didn't solve the issue that it still showed in the GUI as 616 Gb. As this was (after deletion of the files) a mostly empty mailbox, I just deleted it and remade it, only then I didn't see the gigantic size anymore. I have another mailbox, that is used a lot (so which I can't just delete and make anew) which has the same problem.
