MailEnable and Plesk not communicating

Laurence@

Regular Pleskian
When we try and delete a mailbox from one domain:
Code:
MailManager encounter an error: mailmng failed: Run-Time error: MEAOPO.Mailbox.RemoveMailbox failed MEAOAM.AddressMap.RemoveAddressMap failed for domain domain.com
0: D:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\plib\class.MailManager.php:52 psaerror(string "MailManager encounter an error: mailmng failed: Run-Time error: MEAOPO.Mailbox.RemoveMailbox failed MEAOAM.AddressMap.RemoveAddressMap failed for domain domain.com")
1: D:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\plib\class.MailNamesList.php:458 mailmanagermaker()
2: D:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\htdocs\domains\mail\mail_names.php:211 mailnamesform->assign(array, array, string "domain.com", object of type dsmail, object of type mailnameslist, string "[email protected]")

We solved the issue by upgrading to the latest Mail-Enable (1.8) and deleting all Postboxes and all mailboxes and letting mchk re-create them.

The server was really fooked but all is good now. :)

Shouldnt plesk update mailenable automatically ?

There is a grey area here for me because plesk installs everything during its initial setup and upgrading individual packages manually might cause problems with the plesk configuration and also sw-soft could refuse support if you have changed the config yourself.

We are currently having a problem where plesk is creating the mailenable account and allowing the users to create mailboxes but the actual domain name in mailenable is not created so none of the mailboxes work.

To get around this we are now manually creating the domain names on each new account after it has been created in mailenable. We made no changes for this to suddenly start happening. There are a few issues with plesk communicating with mailenable .

One of them is that sometimes when a customer deletes a mailbox, plesk will error for an unknown reason - the mailbox wont get removed from plesk but it does from mailenable. The only way to delete it is to recreate the mailbox on mailenable and delete it again thru plesk.

Whats wrong with this ?

Well, most other systems Ive seen will work out that the mailbox doesnt exist in the mail software and automatically remove it - but plesk doesnt do this.

Its the same for MSDE - where there are many problems. If the plesk mssql user owns tables in the database, the database wont delete - if the database is manually deleted from the server, it remains in plesk - surely plesk should realise that the db has been removed and update itself accordingly ?

Well, 24 hours after the ME upgrade, the mail system was hosed again. Random ME config files were corrupt and had to be fixed manually. Meant that random people couldn't send or receive mail, login to Horde, add/delete mailboxes....

We've now upgrade to Plesk 7.0.2 in the hope that does something magical to fix this ****.
