  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved MailEnable Webmail won't load properly

Erico Morais

New Pleskian
Hy!

Following a disk I/O overload event, we experienced a crash and lost permissions on several critical directories, many of which we had to set back up manually. Ever since, our MailEnable Webmail has been experiencing a very distinctive loading issue as you can see in the attached screenshot. The fields load properly yet the text won't show up despite the fact that the browser itself won't report any 50x or 40x or console errors, so I assume these elements aren't being sent to the IIS (probably due to lack of permission somewhere). Moreover, it won't login, the authentication form reloads after inserting the e-mail and password and hitting Enter.

I tried to run Plesk Reconfigurator's Folder Privileges Fix (the last option up to botton) on the following services to no avail:

Mail Enable Webmail
Mail Enable Standard
Plesk
Plesk Agent

Horde is still working fine, so we are switching customers to it as a temporary workaround.

This is a Plesk Onyx server running on top of Windows 2016 Standard.

Here's the log output after trying to run MailEnable's troubleshooting utility (option #2: "Web application reconfigure"):

Has anyone ever experienced this before? This loading issue seems so peculiar that it leads me to assume it shouldn't be hard to pinpoint its root cause but I'm unable to figure it out.

Thanks!

I'm not sure why but this issue went away on its own just half an hour after I opened this topic. Anyway, sorry about that, have a nice day everyone!
