mailman sent notification from wrong domain

we have multiple domains in a shared server. some domains have mailing lists and some do not. we have two completely separate domains each with mailing lists. a customer added an e-mail in domainA and the notification they got came from another domainB. how can this be? domainA and domainB are completely different. Only thing in common is they run on the same plesk server.
