Issue Mailsrv_conf_init... not found, skipped

Hello Parallels Plesk forum,

I'm experiencing some issues using the plesk repair cli tools.

Linux:
CentOS 6.8

Plesk version:
Plesk Onyx
Version 17.0.17 Update #10

I'm trying to execute: plesk repair mail
But I receive this error: mchk failed: ==> Checking for: mailsrv_conf_init... not found

When I try to find the file it does find it... It seems like some configuration file is wrong?

I hope some of you can help me fix this problem.

pls. consider to use the commands:

plesk installer --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component base

plesk repair all -y -v

I've executed both, but still experiencing the same error.
When I go to the bin directory of parallels it shows me this. That's good right?

Back to your issue:

The files in the folder "/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/" are mostly SYMLINKS, as you can see. There is no SYMLINK at "/usr/local/psa/admin/bin" for "mailsrv_conf_init" and the file is not even located there. Why do you want to show the content of the folder "/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/" anyway? Because the script "mchk" ( in the folder "/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/" failed with exit code [1] ? Well, "exit code [1]" means = ERROR ( and the ERROR - description comes afterwards = mailsrv_conf_init... not found )


The file "mailsrv_conf_init" is located at "/usr/lib/plesk-9.0/mailsrv_conf_init" on your server, as you already investigated in your previous post.
A possible reason, why you might experience issues as described, can as well be a misconfiguration on your system, according to your operating system. On 32-bit ( ALL Linux + 32- AND 64-bit on Debian/Ubuntu ) - systems, the location "/usr/lib/plesk-9.0" is correct, but on 64-bit ( CentOS, FedoraCore, RedHat and SuSe ) - systems, the correct location would be "/usr/lib64/plesk-9.0".

Pls. post the output from your SSH - commands ( logged in as user "root" - - - and pls. DON'T use a screenshot, but COPY the output FROM your command line !!! ):

As you can see all files are in place... something really weird is going on.
Any other suggestions?

When are you going to update your kernel?
Or to ask in detail: When was your last YUM update/upgrade?

Current kernel version in CentOS 6.8 is "kernel-2.6.32-642.11.1.el6.x86_64".

Pls. consider to do a FULL update on your server with "yum" and because you will update the kernel as well, you have to reboot afterwards.

I have excluded kernel updates from my server because those results my OS to run in a kernel panic. Couldn't find out what's wrong with it yet. Can't have much down time. All other packages are updated to it latest versions.

well... sorry... but when you leave out essential parts with your server administration, it can't be guaranteed, ( nor expected ), that your current Plesk version and it's components work as expected.

Pls. consider to contact the Plesk Support => https://www.plesk.com/contact-us/support/ , so that advanced system administrators are able to investigate and solve your current issues/errors and they will as well update your linux operating system if you desire that.
