  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.

I am going to be migrating Plesk 7.5 using IP xx.xx.xx.1 (PC Server 1) to Plesk 8.1 using IP xx.xx.xx.2 (PC server 2). After the migration completes I want to change the IP address xx.xx.xx.2 (Server 2) to xx.xx.xx.1 in Plesk 8.1. How do I do this in Plesk 8.1?

1. Set default TTL in Plesk on both servers to refresh within 5 min.
2. Make default DNS setting on server 2 with the dns settings you want after migration.

After migration, go to dns of domain on server 2.
Click "set default" and done. The default settings will be restored with the values you set.

To be sure dns settings will work fine also:
1. goto hostingsetup of domain and click "Ok"
2. Restart the httpd of the server

After migration is complete make sure you set the default DNS settings back to te normal values. Otherwise new domain creations on server 2 might have wrong dns values.

You can also do this by making a script, but above most work within Plesk interface.

Hope this is helpfull.
