Hi, im planning on renting a new server.
When i do so, i want to migrate plesk from my old server to the new one.
So when i migrate, do i still keep all the data on the old server?
Also, does all data get copied?
Yes, the data on the old server will remain untouched.
Plesk Migrator will transfer all your web data, databases, mails, users, subscriptions, DNS settings etc. to the new server.
Sorry to bother again, but i'd rather use this thread than creating a new one.
On this page it says that i need a seperate license on the destination server. But i only have one license. Why should i have two? I want to switch from one server to another, and i dont expect to need two licences for that.
You can request a trial license on your new server and use that during the migration.
After the migration has completed, you can switch the license on your new server to the purchased license and shutdown the old server.
It's important that you do not use the same license on both servers at the same time as you'll risk your license being suspended or terminated if you do so.
