• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Migration Manager - POP Troubles

futureweb

Regular Pleskian
Hello,

we are in the progress of migrating an old Plesk Server to Version 11 and got a Problem with POP3 migration.
Old Plesk uses QMail + Courier
New Plesk uses Postfix + Courier

When migrating boxes with Mails left on the Server - all E-Mail which already have been downloaded to the client will be downloaded again - ending up with a complete Mess in the Mail Client (sometimes thousands of E-Mails get redownloaded - all unread in the inbox)

It seems like the UIDLs are lost - Is there any possibility to avoid this problem?

Thank you

I don't think there's ...however you can use rsync to make sure ALL data in /var/qmail/mailnames on OLD server is exact same as on the NEW server, same location to begin with.

Guess new Courier Version won't recognize the old UIDL when we just rsync the whole directory structure! :-/
Can it be we are the only provider having this "massive" problem when upgrading Plesk?

Not that easy to tell hundreds of customers that they can redownload thousands of E-Mails because we are upgrading their Server ...
