I recently opened my first VPS account. I was provided with 2 IP's and I ordered an addtional 2 IP's.
The two IP's originally assigned to my account:
- x.x.x.142
- x.x.x.143
Additional 2 IP's:
- x.x.x.152
- x.x.x.153
I went ahead and created two domain accounts on my VPS. The IP ending in 152 I made exclusive to one domain account; and, the other IP (ending in 153) was made exclusive to the other domain account.
I have the domain names registered at GoDaddy. Following their directions, I had registered my new nameservers for my VPS, under each domain name. For NS1, I assigned one of the original IP's, specifically the one ending in 142. For NS2, I assigned the other original IP, ending in 143.
Was I correct in assigning the original IP's to each domain name, even though, in my VPS, I had assigned each domain account with a different, exclusive, IP?
It seems to have propagated correctly and the domain names are pointing to the new nameservers and pulling up the correct websites. But, I'm experiencing a problem with sending email out from my email client. It seems that whenever I'm at a wi-fi hotspot, I can't send mail out from these two domains. I have three other email accounts, and they can send out no problem. It's only happening with these two domain accounts on my VPS, and ... it only happens when I'm at a wi-fi hotspot.
So, firstly, can you please confirm that I did register my nameservers correctly for those two domains?
And, secondly, why am I not able to send mail out from these domains when I'm at a wi-fi hotspot...and I've tried more than one location and experiencing the same problem.
Thanks very much for your help!!
