  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question New ImunifyAV extension is missing notification settings and templates in Plesk notifications?

18.0.66 #2 with new ImunifyAV extension
In the previous ImunifyAV extension, Plesk offered notification settings in Plesk notificates. It was also possible to edit that template to cater for individual needs.

In the new ImunifyAV extension however, these settings are missing. Where can we define ImunifyAV notifications?

Does the new extension send email notifications by itself at all? I am asking, because I'd not want users to receive messages from it uncontrolled, it would only confuse users.

It shouldn't send notifications unless a custom script is configured. However, I will test that to be certain and I will let you know.

I checked out the script samples that ImunifyAV provides, but it seems that it is no longer possible to inform individual user accounts on their individual domain security issues as there are no variables to use for that or they are undocumented. Further, even the simple example shell script has 200 lines. Even if there was an option to use variables, we'd still need to develop the routines that identify and load the matching plesk user data from the Plesk database to insert it, then we'll need to provide HTML mail capabilities to use the notification template etc.

All in all this is a very strong decline in usability. It's basically removing the previously valuable feature that users are informed about malware in their accounts.

@Peter Debik; Why order ImunifyAV+ directly from CloudLinux? And then install it from CLI. I expect more and better options.

Thank you for the feedback @Bitpalast . I forwarded it to our team and they are currently discussing how to improve the notification management with CloudLinux. As soon as I have more details, I will let you know.

Oops... Terribly sorry, made a mistake there. I forgot to use "not", so it should have read: Why not order ImunifyAV+ directly from CloudLinux?
Sorry!!

@Bitpalast , our team confirmed that CloudLinux are currently actively working on improving the notification system and integrating the possibility to notify users for security issues. The ETA is the end of Q2.
