• The new Python extension is now available. It allows customers to deploy and manage WSGI-based Python applications on their websites directly from Plesk.
  • Debian 11 has reached its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.81 is the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

A few weeks ago, a new Python extension for Plesk became available in the Extensions Catalog. If you missed it, here are some details about what it does and how to get started.

Python powers some of the most popular web frameworks, such as Django and Flask. Until now, running a Python app on Plesk usually meant SSH access, manual virtualenv setup, and hand-written Passenger directives. The new extension removes those steps: you and your customers can deploy and manage WSGI-based Python applications on websites directly from Plesk.

How do you get started? Install the extension from Extensions in your Plesk panel. Then open a domain, find the Python button on the Getting Started tab, and try the demo application to get a feel for the workflow.

A couple of sample apps are available on the official Plesk GitHub account:
Plesk uses Phusion Passenger under the hood, so the most interesting part is the content of passenger_wsgi.py.

We hope you find it useful. Please share your thoughts or feedback in this thread.
