Issue Outgoing Limit not working

daanse

Regular Pleskian
Hi,

i have defined 50 Emails per Hour Limit but one Email Adress can send over 130 Emails in 2 Seconds without Problems.
The Mail queu wont get filled or anything else.
It seems that the outgoing Limit for Mailboxes wont do his work.

OS Debian 8.10‬ Plesk Onyx
Version 17.5.3 Update #37

I double checked the Server wide Settings and the Settings within Subscription.
Makes no sense!!

This is the custom Settings for Customer and it stands on 50 Emails.
Customer could send 130 Emails today .......

I looked into magicspam for that Domain and saw HAM 130 rows -

Hello daanse,

Thank you for your post.

Based on the provided screenshot we see that you are referring to the Plesk limitations on outgoing email messages. We also see that you have determined that the customer has sent more than 130 messages based on the MagicSpam logs.

As this is not MagicMail related issue, we will include @IgorG for further support as he may have more information about this issue.

Please note that MagicSpam PRO version has its own Outbound Rate Limiter feature, and if you need any assistance in setting up this feature in your MagicSpam system, please let us know.

Have a great day.

Hey @MagicSpam12 ,

just in Case - where can i find that Outbound Rate Limiter Feature in MagicSpam PRO?

Hello daanse,

Thank you for your question.

MagicSpam Outbound Rate Limiter configuration settings are located under the:

Settings / System / 'Options' / "Advanced Options"

tab in MagicSpam PRO admin interface panel.

We hope this information helps.

Regarding the initial issue: This can be caused by a whitelist entry in the server-wide e-mail settings for a certain IP address range, such as 127.0.0.1/32. IP addresses in the white list can bypass the mail-out limit.

Hi, thank you.
But there is nothing whitelisted of course.

The Sender even sends via BCC and i have noticed that the 130 outgoing Emails strangly not appear in maillog

I see this can't even work? Outgoing Mail Control does not work for CC and BCC recipients

I don't understand that. Outgoing Rate Limit is useless to me with such a leak.
Most customers will send in BCC if send to many recipients.

I have voted here.

I dont want PolicyD - i want this Outgoing Limit to get work again.
Today it passed this Limit again, but not BCC - it was "TO" field or "cc" .....

This is terrible ...

HI @Mark Muyskens,

thank you for your exceedingly helpful Answer.

As you can see in Docs: Limiting Outgoing Mail in the first Section, its says "Email Messages" ....
So let me give an example:
If one Sender is Sending an email messages to 100 recipients - how many messages where processed?

Besides - same Case - seems working fine on another Server. Therefore i am wondering why my other Servers have trouble with that.

This Outgoing Limit Feature is only working partially.

Here is something similar: Outgoing mail limit not working properly
