  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Passive FTP not working

Julsaiza

New Pleskian
Hi, I have a problem with passive ftp in plesk 11.5.30 on a CentOS 6.4 final.

Since I have updated it from 11.0.9 to 11.5.30 I cannot enter with filezilla in default mode (passive).

I have tried changing proftpd.conf adding PassivePorts 49152-65534 then open in the firewall and restart the service and it doesn´t work.

Its running on a vpc machine of amazon and the security group is open with the correct ports.

I don´t know what to do.

If anyone has the solution, please help me.

Thanks

Julsaiza,

First give some additional information:

a) when did you upgrade tot 11.5.30 version? (recently I presume)

b) when did the first ftp problems occur?

c) did you try changing the password on the current account?

d) did you try creating a new ftp account? (that often should do the trick)

Kind regards....

I´ve done all

the problem is still there
I´ve opened all the ports on firewall and also in the security group, nothing.
I can´t enter in passive mode with ftp clients.

Anyone has the solution?

Thanks

Julsaiza,

Please provide some log information, concerning the errors encountered.

Furthermore, change proftpd.conf to the original state and run

1) service drwebd stop

2) service psa stop

3) service psa start

in the above mentioned order.

The restart of Plesk will probably not resolve your problems, but is intended to give you a proper starting point for analyzing the source of the problems.

In general, your problems should not be the result of running Plesk 11.5.30.

It is very unlikely that the upgrade to Plesk 11.5.30 is a cause.

It can be the case that your ftp client (Filezilla) has to be updated, so try to update that to the latest version, in order to rule out that the issue is related to Filezilla.

If any problems still exist, please post the log information regarding errors when trying to use the passive mode.

Kind regards.....
