• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Password Protected Main Directory-Subdomains-Is not Possible

Hassan Saeed

New Pleskian
Hi Everyone,

I have read a number of resources before posting this question. I thought that I would be possible to set a password for the main subdomain directly. I have done it in another a platform other than plesk and it worked. So, I did the same in plesk and it didn't worked. I then contacted my hosting provider and they answered the following:

" I apologize for the inconvenience. I found that password protection could not be used on the main directory either httpdocs or the subdomain directory. I highly suggest making a login page within your app."

I still think that my hosting provider is not answering it correctly but I am new. A little correction or confirmation is required.
