php shows as not installed

Hello there,
There is the following situation:
Centos 5.4, plesk 8.6
A couple of days ago, Zend optimizer has been installed.
Trying to add php to a newly created domain is not possible. Option is greyed out
index.php in this newly created site asks to save the file.
Going to Installed components in Plesk: php shows as not installed
php -v on shell says 5.1.6, with Ioncube / Zend Optimizer
phpinfo on any site on the server shows 5.2.11, with php.ini taken from /usr/local/zend/etc/
So server servers php files, but not for newly created domain, after Zend being installed.

Any idea what is happening and how can be fixed?

Thank you.
